Our hearts are full of longing – I understand this as a longing for Home.
In our secular society, increasingly divorced from the wisdom and succour of the natural world, we are experiencing our ache for connection to soul-full nourishment.
The way the western culture works, we tend to worship at the altar of production and seek nourishment at the barren gardens of consumerism.
We are hungry and soul-lonely for something that’s hard to name but feels like homesickness for a place we are not sure we’ve ever been to.
My belief is that we all could do with a little compassionate reminding of the pathways Home. We all need tending when things are wobbly and encouragement when things are at their most bleak.
We also have forgotten, through lack of role modelling and practise mostly, how to bring the sacred into everyday life and into the special occasions we experience. Births, graduations, weddings, divorce, dying and some days just getting out of bed. Many of our threshold events go unmarked by the sacred because we are just not sure how to invoke The Holy.
Some time ago I decided to create blessings on my Facebook page, Numinous Jane. Knowing what I longed to hear and repeating what was whispered into my heart, I used my own experiences coupled with images of the beautiful world I live in, to allow metaphor to rise up. The metaphor became a lens for a human situation, often something I was struggling with, and the metaphor created its own pathway and medicine, which I then turned into blessings

These blessings are offered up to in the hope that people who read them will feel seen, that this aloneness the world suffers from can fall away and you can feel connected soul to soul with someone else who is trying to make sense of it all too.
Now I am offering blessings made just for you - hence Bespoke Blessings. Each blessing is designed to call in the Numinous (the presence of the Divine). To invite the Divine right into the middle of whatever it is you are experiencing and allow that presence to shift things is deep magic. Magic that lands lovingly, generously, gently. These blessings are a tender hand on your cheek and a loving gaze into your vulnerability and fear that says “Darling, you are not alone.” I created Bespoke Blessings so that people who want to have a personal blessing may ask and receive something made directly for them. That the images and words that come through for you are succour and balm. That the words and image might bind your heart back in right relationship with The Holy and that you may find solace and joy in the shelter they create.

You can come to me with any situation and I will use my intuition, honouring of word and image to fashion a blessing that you can use over and over again. Each blessing will be emailed to you with an mp3 of my reading it to you (replete with a Kiwi accent) which you can play anywhere, anytime.
